Due to the nature of the Consultant Training, we think it is essential to run it as a face-to-face session. But don’t worry, our classroom courses are a world away from your typical dull, lecture-style training.
Our open classroom training is a mix of tutor-led presentations, group activities, discussions and games. This blended approach to learning uses a mix of delivery styles to ensure the course is as effective as possible and you retain a high level of knowledge.
The Consultant Training course takes place over three days and you’ll be assessed throughout on your new skills. The training ends with the Master Black Belts certifying the delegates.
To ensure you’re confident in your new skills, we provide lifelong learning support to all delegates. This means you can call or email with a question about your training at any point, or for some advice and we’ll be there to help.
If more than four people at your place of work intend to take this training, we can run it as an in-house session. Prices will depend on the number of delegates and the amount of tailoring the session will need.

Successful consultants and advisors are those that balance significant expertise in their field with the charisma necessary to get people on board.
On an almost daily basis, people in a consultant or advisory role will be working with groups, presenting to senior management teams and trying to convince those in a position of power to take the recommended course of action.
However, those vital interpersonal skills do not come naturally to everyone.
This training will build on the personal and communication skills you already have by equipping you with key skills in managing team dynamics, influencing and overcoming resistance to change.
Due to the interactive and people-facing nature of this training, we do not currently offer it as an online training course.
The Consultant Training course gives you an overview of some essential technical skills, but focuses on the soft skills you need to succeed in your role.
The course has a high level of interaction and engagement, ensuring delegates are hands-on and involved in personal development as consultants. Delegates will be assessed throughout their training and will have to pass an exam to certify in Consulting Skills.
The course covers the following:
How to run successful meetings and workshops
Overcoming problem behaviours in meetings
Resistance to change – understand why people resist change
Overcoming resistance to change in individuals

The ability to effectively communicate as a consultant or advisor cannot be underestimated. While identifying problems and proposing solutions that will work is an essential part of the role, those you are working with must be convinced both of the need to change and your plans.
Following this course you will:
Have the skills and tools to solve problems quickly and effectively
Learn how to develop an effective team
Have the facilitation skills to get the most from a group
Learn how to use data to support and illustrate your viewpoint
Understand why people resist change and how to overcome this resistance
Deliver more effective presentations
Have the communication skills you need to build rapport and influence people
Following completion of the course you will gain 25 CPD points. You’ll also have the skills to effectively manage people, promote change and influence at all levels.
There are no prerequisites for this role, but it is expected that you will already be in (or plan on moving into) a consultative role.
Who should attend?
This course does not teach you how to become a consultant, but helps existing consultants become more successful in that role.
It is designed for anyone providing consultancy services to external or internal clients. Typical delegates have the technical skills to be consultants but wish to build on the facilitation, presenting and influencing skills necessary to be truly effective.

Very interesting introduction. This course seems to be putting common sense and experience into one package.
The content was good, however the test was very simplistic and did not really test my understanding of the Lean principles.
Excellent course easy to understand with many workplace examples throughout.
